With the world in a disarray, it may be difficult to find time to organize your thoughts and engage in healthy discourse. Lucky for us, Brandy Montague has a podcast series dedicated to tackling this very problem. Her aim was to create a space where inspiration, growth, and supporting one another are key values. In this, she has once again committed and stepped towards helping people reach their fullest potential.
On Episode 2 of ‘Sustainability, Fast Fashion & the Future’, Brandy spoke with Laura Choi, president of Fashion for Conservation. Laura is committed to better her future and that of the world. After graduating with degrees in engineering and literature, she actually started her career in corporate fashion then finance and finally tech. In 2016 she initially joined the FFC family to support the co-founders in fashion product, but eventually worked her way to pivot the company to a more sustainable narrative and one that improves the livelihoods of women the world over. Today, she continues to thrive on the intersection between technology and the arts.
In her interview with Brandy, Laura spoke to her journey into the fashion world. Touching on her transformational time in college, internships, and how her experience working in corporate fashion influenced her passion for blending it with humanity, Laura shares her backstage perspective into the seemingly glamorous life of corporate fashion to help us understand the critical need for environmentally friendly fashion.
She encourages us to crawl, walk, then run to actively always be a part of the solution.
